The brief
A retelling of West African Anansi folk tales needed a visual language rooted in the tradition it draws from — not pastiche, not decoration, but genuine cultural specificity.
The solution
Modern Folk style — flat color, decorative geometric pattern, textile-inspired borders — built around a deep-indigo night palette with ochre, terracotta, gold, and forest green. Each spread reads as a contemporary folk-art plate.
